Last week, for two days in a row, I got up and NOTHING HURT. It was shocking, like I was 20 again. Full of energy, no pain. I can't imagine what I did differently. Just wondering if there's anyone else here who has experienced this, or if anybody has any opinions about why this might have happened. Wouldn't mind at all if I could re-create this every day!

If it makes a difference, I'm 54, very active, doc says I have "fibromyalgia," which in my opinion translates to "everything hurts and no one knows why." I've learned to live with the pain, and pretty much ignore it -- which is why it was so obvious when it wasn't there!

Thanks, everyone ... still don't know why it happened, but I'm getting some good ideas here. Yoga, stretching (which I don't do enough of), naturopathic medicine, laughter (thanks, Mountaingal!), JerseyGirl's excellent list, and the healing thoughts from others. Luv - yes, it DOES feel like I was beat while I slept! Good description.

Thanks, Typical ... maybe that's why I hurt MORE when I exercise instead of LESS.

I completely agree with Wally Y! You can't rely on western medicine to make you well, they WANT you sick! And the FDA? They are so hooked up with the pharmaceutical companies that their job has turned into 'keeping America sick'!

I was diagnosed with MS last year after being sick, hurting and tired for at least 20 years. They gave me all kinds of drugs that did nothing but mask my symptoms.

When I was diagnosed they wanted me to go on medication where I would have to give myself injections DAILY! I decided to take charge of my life! Here is what I have done:

1. NO caffeine except organic whole leaf "green tea".
2. NO diet drinks AT ALL! Steer clear of ALL articial sweeteners, they are POISON!
3. WATER! WATER! WATER! Drink lots of it!
4. Eliminate refined sugar..
5. Eliminate processed foods.
6. Eliminate refined flours, op for whole grains.
7. Eat more whole fresh fruits and veggies.
8. Take a good vitamin supplement. (not the garbage they sell in the "Big Box" stores, go to a good natural health food store and get a recommended product.
9. NO alcohol, NO tobacco, NO fast food.........NONE!
10. Yoga......it makes you breath and stretch. Americans are oxygen deficient.
11. Walk! I walk 4 miles daily!
12. Go organic with everything you possibly can!
13. Get sun on a regular basis. Natural sunlight is necessary for your health and wellbeing.

I feel better than I have in 20 years! I feel like I am getting younger every single day and I swear I have NOT had morning pain in months! I even went off my Cymbalta! I am now completely off all prescribed medications that were keeping me sick! Another positive side effect is that I lost 25 lbs while still eating lots of delicious food!

Take charge of your life and your health! This can be the first day of your new life!

Good luck!

I tend to agree a bit with Jersey girl. We become what we eat and do. That is how it is...

Why would you wake up feeling great? Perhaps you did the right thing or your body had the ability to handle it all on those days.

Fibromyalgia like many diseases reflect the outside and the inside of a person. It is also fundamentally unable to be diagnosed as a single problem. Many of those wholistic books have it right when they say that the body is a system that reflects lack of balance in symptoms of illness.

Illness and pain are reflections of all of ourselves. A good day may reflect increased balance in our lives.

Living better increases the good days versus the bad days. Maybe you are just being rewarded for good behavior.

I am not a senior yet...but I see better days without pain on the days that I take care of my health. I hurt less when I exercise. I feel better when I eat healthy...and I sleep better when I keep the negatives down to a minimun in my life.

Humans are resiliant. Occasional alcohol or junk food can be handled by many...but for those that are not that resiliant...less is more.

Recreating health and freedom from dis-ease is about putting yourself first. That includes listening to what your body tells you.

I do not tell you something that i am an expert at, or something that anyone can do easily. But i have noticed, that healthy people live healthy lives. At least on the average.

Good luck for many more painfree days. Maybe you are doing something right!!!!!

I'm just the opposite. Arthritis has settled into my hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, knees, feet, hips..... As the day wears on, sometimes these areas become very painful. I take ibuprofen which works like a miracle for me.

I find after a night's sleep, nothing hurts in the morning. Doctor tells me it is because those joints that get such a workout during the day get the rest they need at night... When you sleep, the body relaxes completely and motion is diminished. This speeds up the reduction in inflammation.

Go figure.

The days I feel best are when I sleep well. I sleep better if the room temperature is cooler (not cold) and I don't toss around as much. Getting exercise like walking and stretching helps me too. Sometimes I feel pretty good and other days I feel like someone beat me while I slept.

I now have a laptop, but when I used a regular computer my neck and shoulders hurt much worse. Changes in your daily patterns could have made a difference. Even the foods you eat can affect you, make sure you get the proper nutrition to feel your best. Hope you keep feeling well.

Mornings are getting more painful, especially if I don't keep doing yoga or stretching. I think it's pretty sad that in order to feel 'ok', I have to warm up, just to move around without aching..
The only time nothing hurts is when I'm being really good and keeping up with my stretches and exercise.

We never heard of fibromyalgia when I was young unless it was neuralgia(I don't know) but so many have it now. Pain is pain and it is wonderful to get up without it. My only problem with that is ,I get up and clean my whole house and then next morning, the pain is back. Vacuuming is a killer and so is washing the floor. The repetetive motion does it to me and staying on the computer too long causes pain as well. The weather is a factor too. On nice sunny days I don't hurt as much as damp. overcast days.

I am happy for you. If you do indeed have fibromyalgia it could be that you had a day that your cells produced enough ATP for your body to function properly.
I have Fibromyalgia too. I have had it for about 13 yrs. There is a reason for it. It is due to excess phosphate retention on a cellular level. I take Guaifenesin for my Fibro and have been for over 8 yrs. For the med to work one has to follow a specific protocol. Here is a website if you are interested......
www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com

Before I started taking this med I was taking prescription pain meds constantly. I have not had to take them in over 5 yrs. I still have fibro and I am still limited physically but if I don't overwork my muscles I don't have too much trouble.

I fell asleep in the recliner last night, and my back did not hurt at all, like it usually does when I wake up after sleeping in my bed. The mattress is orthopedic, not a cheap set at all, so I am thinking it must mainly be the position I sleep in that makes the difference.

"Anybody have any opinions about why this might have happened?"

Lordie: You people are really
OLD! I'm going over to
the kiddie section. They treat
me like an uneducated/
unintellectual/ unimportant
dimwit, and I don't have to think over there. All they worry about is their boob size and their pen- - size. I told
this one kid that no 8" is too
big and he would need to get
some cut off.
