How many weeks pregnant were you when you went into labor?

I'm 32 weeks pregnant, and i'm just wondering, since i keep reading that only 5% of babies are born on the due date.... I also was informed that most babies come between week 37 and 39, how true to you find that to be?

Baby is the only one who truely knows when he or she is ready for the big trip. I was at 42 weeks, I have a friend who has 4 kids. Her first was late, second was late, and her third was early and her last was late. It just depends on your body, and the pregnancy. Every one is different! Good Luck!

Well I am one of the few women that go early.
Baby # 1: 35 weeks. She was a healthy little one
Baby #2 : stopped my labor at 29 weeks he was born at 37 wks and 2 days
Baby# 3 10 mins before her due date.

Everyone that I personally know has never gone " full term" (40wks). Remember they say full term is 38 wks to 42 wks.

Speaking as someone who works with laboring women for a living, only part of what you are saying is true.

Yes, only about 5% of women go on their due date.

NO, most mothers do NOT go between weeks 37-39. To most pregnant women's dismay, the majority of women (if left to give birth on their own and not being induced) give birth between 40-42 weeks. First time mothers tend to go around 7-10 days overdue (though some go much much longer and still have very healthy babies), subsequent births are usually a little sooner.

Personally, my baby was born 5 days after my due date. I am a doula and of yet have only had one mother go into labor and give birth ON her due date. We always joke about the fact that we have to be on call 24/7 - when can we plan our engagements to fit around a pregnant woman's birth? Plan it on her due date, and most likely, you'll be clear.

Remember that every woman's body gestates for a different amount of time. The same way that not every menstral cycle is 28 days, some women healthily gestate to 37 weeks, and others healthily gestate to 42 weeks. All of them are normal! (Though going to 42 weeks can be tiring and stressful...its still normal though!)

My little Evan was born at 41 weeks 2 days. It seems that most first babies are born late, not early. Your baby will know when it's time to come.

My first child was born the day after his due date. I went into labor on my due date but he wasn't born for 21 hours. My water broke first.

My second son was born at 38 weeks by scheduled c-section but I had already begun having contractions that day.

# 1-I went into labor right at 39 weeks, she was born 3 days later.
# 2-41 weeks 4 days, labor was about 18 hours, only 3 or 4 from whern I KNEW it was labor. (preterm labor stopped at 20 weeks)
#3-36 weeks 3 days today, still waiting. But havign fairly regular but spaced out contractions and quite a bit of prelabor signs.(preterm stopped at 35 weeks 2 days)

my first son was born at 37 weeks, my second son was born at 32 weeks... thank god my first was early though... he was already 7 lbs when he was born! My second was pretty big too. He was 4 lbs 1 oz and 16 1/4 inches at 8 weeks early!

I incredibly do not think of you're on the minute. i develop into such as you from 34 weeks. Going to the bathroom is only clearing you out waiting for labour. If the painful tightening worsen time them, if the are coming each 5 minutes and lasting over 40 5 seconds then you definately've began labour. the release is regular. in case you subject touch your delivery suite. good success and that i wish you have your infant quickly.

I have had 2 kids and both of them apparently did not want to be born. I had to be induced a week after my due date with both. I think everyone is different though.

My first was born at 37 weeks, my second at 41 weeks, and my third at almost 40 (but she was induced).
