Even if it's something I like to do, I just can't make myself get on it. I don't like to shower--don't want to get wet. I've got tons of TG flower arrangments to make for friends & family, and I love to do that, but I can't get started. I'm sleepy. I think I'll take a nap and get started later. Maybe. Maybe I just need more light.

No, I always live up to my expectations, because I know my limits and I never set them too high. No, it's more like a lack of self-control. Can't make myself do anything at all.

I do the same - For me it is a defensive reluctance to change state.

I love to walk - I know that I love to walk and yet cant get out. Can't make the first move.

I think it is perhaps not having motivation - I am trying to learn how to kick-start myself by making plans and structuring my time, in the same way that I bath and brush my teeth like making it into routine but that energy to initiate the first step is a real hard one to grasp.

Marion Milner a psychologist, wrote a classic book called 'an experiment in leisure' and that helped me a lot.

She looks in detail at what she does when she has nothing to do and where her motivation comes from.
