even if he wasn't the worst defensive player I've ever seen Tulo would still have a chance for rookie of the year.

Braun dominated!!!!! What Tulo did at the end of the year was great but it only came at the end of the year. Braun domindated from the moment he was called up. Tulo should finish no better than 3rd behind Braun and Pence.

the brewers were in the hunt til the end, first time since yount and company. Braun was a big reason, especially since weeks and hall bombed. Tulowitski played in Colorado, so there will be questions about his offensive stats. Plus holiday and Hawpe carried the team most of the year. Defense up the middle is vitally important but seldom considered for ROY. Pence when healthy, actually was more valuable to Houston than the other two were to theirs. Plus most people didn't know about TUL until the playoffs where they didn't belong anyway because of a bad call at home plate.

Braun is offense and horrible on the defense of side. Troy defense and offense, not Braun offense but quality offense, plus teammates consider him a throwback and a leader for his hard work and emotional boost. Have to always keep personal bias and favorites, so look at Braun's numbers and he didn't play all year. He is worthy of the award so if he gets it, it should not be a shock....it would be a shame as Troy has been the overall better player and like I stated he has been more influential on his team and not just the scoreboard. So Troy should get it hands down, but don't knock Braun if he get it cause he had a great year in limited play.

Well Im thinking you're asking this question just because you are a Rockies fan. People consider Braun because he hit 34 HRs and 97 RBIs; very good for a rookie. Basically the last thing they look for is defense. Tulowitzki only had 24 HRs but had 99 RBIs, with a .291 average. Also, Braun only played 113 games compared to Tulowitzkis 155 games. Huge difference.

Ryan Braun is the worst defensive player you've ever seen? Goodness...you haven't watched too many Marlins games the last couple of years, have you?

Miguel Cabrera would make you change your mind in an instant. :-x

The Gold Glove is the defensive-based award, so Braun isn't going to be slighted because he isn't as good defensively as Troy Tulowitzki in terms of the Rookie award.

Tulowitzki is the best defensive shortstop in the NL, but Braun's offensive numbers were better.

Braun had 10 more homers than TT, and had a higher batting average, OBP and slugging percentage. He also did so without having the advantage of half his games at Coors. Braun hit .326 at home and .322 on the road, while Tulowitzki hit well at Coors (.326) but was awful on the road (.256).

I'd give Tulowitzki my vote, but I can understand why Braun is considered. TT's defense, though, is the reason I'd vote for him.

Ryan Braun was one of the best hitters in the NL this year, and his numbers weren't inflated like Tulo's. I'd vote Pence and even Lincecum over Tulowitzki (though Troy's got at least Pence beat over the long haul)
