I think that by taking junk food out of school they are taking away reality. They don't give us the opportunity to make our own choices about food. Plus, by taking it out of school we are just more likely to buy it somewhere else and bring it to school anyway. They need to teach us to make healthy choices, and then let us decide what we want to do. In the end, we control what we choose to eat. Not them.
There aren't enough healthy alternatives at our school. If there were, then I know a lot of people who would choose the healthy alternatives over junk food in the scenario I mentioned above.

Do you think junk food should be allowed in school?
No. Childhood obesity is the reason. Also there are children out there that may only get one chance a day to eat a healthy, balanced meal.... and that is at school, so no junkfood just healthier food.
Do you think there are enough healthy alternatives to junkfood in school?
Yes, well at least in my city. The school districts have taken a stand against unhealthy food options at school. All of the soda machines have been replaced with water and gatoraid (not much better but it's a start).
Our school lunches are well balanced and the kids seem to like them okay.
Good luck with your survey!

I think junk food should be allowed in school because students should know when enough is enough. It's about self-control.
School's "healthy" alternatives aren't exactly healthy themselves. They weren't when I was in school anyway. I'm sorry, but pizza with the grease just pooled on top is not healthy to me, but taht was one of our "healthy alternatives". We also had a choice of salads. Too bad they only made about 6 salads per week, so there was never one to eat.
I think nutrition and a healthy lifestyle is the parent's responsibility. Schools should not be responsible for things like that. If parents weren't so lazy, kids wouldn't be either.

No junk food should not be allowed in school. You are what you eat, from your head down to your feet.
It depends upon the school as to whether there are alternatives to junk food. Some schools do offer an alternative, few though do not offer anything but the alternative.
Unfortunately in our day and age, education has taken a back seat to just about everything as far as funding goes. And thanks to the education of prior generations, it is now cheaper to feed partially hydroginated vegetable oil to a child then it is to feed them an apple. So the Cheetos win, and the apple farmers sell their products to companies that extract and dispose of the nutrition and fiber, load the remainder down with sugar and sweeteners and sell it to the kids as "fruit" by the foot...

Hmm... Yes... I think that junk food should be allowed in schools for it's up to people (not schools) to make the right choices. It's ok to hae a little junk food now and then. I mean... where would the world be if we didn't have twinkies or ding-dongs to help us through the bad days.
However... I do think that schools should offer more healthy alternatives. More things like, Nuts and crakers.

I think junk food shouldn't be allowed in schools. It leads to obesity and other health problems! I don't think there are enough healthy alternatives to junkfood in schools. There needs to be more of an effort. There is tons of stuff that can be offered, fresh fruits, veggies, and healthy snacks!
Good luck with your poll!

Yes I think junk food should be allowed in schools! Its not the skinny peoples fault that all the fata$$es can't control what they eat...why should skinny people have to suffer with disgusting healthier food. And about the healthy alternatives...cafeteria food is disgusting....they took away all the good food because of the stupid fat kids...i don't think any food that our cafeteria serves is healthy...people sometimes find hair in it and people have been served moldy buns...ewww

I think it should be allowed in middle school and high schools if they are public schools. At that age, kids should know what is healthy versus what is unhealthy. Also, at that age it is the childs personal responsibility to take care of their bodies. Not the parents or the school officials. The unhealthy food should only be kept in vending machines too.
