Unless you're spending the night there, don't hold out too much hope for that doorbuster. If they're handing out vouchers at 3 am, maybe not too many people will be there, so I guess you can take a chance at say 2:30.

Here's the dirty little secret.

The employees know what item is going to be bargain priced weeks in advance. In some cases, the managers will set aside some (or all) or the door buster stuff for friends and family of employees and the public never gets a shot at them.

Why do you think "hot" items like Nintendo wii's or PS3's never seem to be in stock, even when the manager says a shipment is coming on such-and-such day at whatever o'clock?

Remember "tickle Me Elmo"? The reason they were only available on Ebay at 10 times the retail price had everything to do with employees highjacking them from the shelves andpirating them online.

As a Black Friday Vet. for over 10 years, Depending on your area you may need to line up maybe Thanksgiving Evening (5.30 PM)
People are lining up earlier year after year, I got to Best Buy last year for Black Friday 2006 at 5:30 PM and was 40th in line. The First people got there wendsday night.
This year I am going even earlier, but I can't tell you when-because then you'll steal my spot in line. ;)

This reminds me of when me and my mom went Wii shopping. We got up at like 5 and left about 5:30. When we got to New Orleans we stood outside of Best Buy and waited. They started handing out the tickets. We didn't get one. So for you I would say get there about 2:30 if they start handing out the tickets at 3:00. It would also be helpful to know what type of computer it is and they city you are going to so we can find out the populartiy. But to end my story, my cousins fiance`'s friend worked at a walmart and he called my cousin and she bought it. She brought it over to my house when I was there they said it was a dvd player for my grandpa. I totally believed them because they put it in a dvd player box. I was so shocked!

In my opinion no later than 12:30 especially at that price. As you know that day is crazy anyways, I would suggest getting the computer and running for your life. (lol)
Don't forget you a nice warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate to stay warm, along with something warm to wear because the temp is awfully cold in the early hours.

Ugh.....I never understood people who do the black friday thing.....

I remember last year some store was selling laptops for some ridiculously low price. People camped out overnight, and the store sold out like 5 minutes after they opened.

Do you have a tent?
