These programmes are supposed to help children who have learning difficulties. Has anyone used either of these programmes and/or can identify the key differences between them?

Movement and learning go hand and hand.
More neurons fire when movement is initiated.
Something like "How does you Engine Run?" may be helpful for you to understand primary movement. Movement is crucial to attention span and self regulation so that learning can take place.
NDT is often used when typical movement patterns have not been established. Its kinda like going back and teaching them. NDT is also helpful is breaking down reflexes that should have integrated in the early years of development. Big ones would include the ATNR and STNR. When kids get stuck with these reflexes everything from vision to coordination to write becomes out of whack.

What you describe can vary enormously from school to school.

Also, the written course summary may turn out to be only well-written advertising (aka puffing) vs a realistic and accurate description of the typical outcome.
