I`m planning on buying a laptop soon. I see laptops that have a sattelite option with it. Is that like wireless? is it free or do you need a server? If it not free how much would a person spend a month on service for a Sat hookup.
thankyou

There is a model that is called satellite. It is made by Toshiba. There are PCMCIA cards that are Cellular but as far as having a sat hookup, that is not a cheap option. It would take a big antenna and cost about 2000 dollars a month to be totally portable. If you are looking at the other sat options like hughes net, there is an antenna on the house and you hook it up to a lan at the house. This is a subscription service (ISP).
