They apparently really like debt, since Bush has racked up over four trillion dollars of debt.

There was a veto of President Bush's that was overriden by a democratic congress this week.
It was a water projects bill which is needed to eradicate the effects of the drout in the southern states, and to prevent the problem in the future.
The army corps of engineers put forth a proposal that would cost 5 billion dollars. This is relativly small potatoes in the congressional budget, and it is an expenditure worth making.
By the time this bill, which was necessary for the well being of many americans, got to the President's desk, the price tag was 25 billion dollars. It would have been irresponsible of the President to sign this bill, because it had 20 billion of pork and waste in it.
Our wonderful Democrat Congress with the help of some bought and paid for Republicans, overrode his veto.
Of course they would, because they get to go home with pork, and they claim a moral victory over the President, because they care about the poor thirsty people in Georgia and Florida, and any who may be similiary aflicted in the future.
This kind of deal making goes on in our government every day, and it costs us. This is just the most blatent example of it that has happened recently.
I am sick of the whole bunch of them.
We need to vote them all out, and put some responsible people out there to represent us.
These people are playing with our futures and the futures of our children as if they had an unlimited supply of monopoly money.
The only candidate that is willing to do anything about it at all is Ron Paul.
It's time to take our country back and give our children some real hope.

A my favorite subject, the classic tax scheme, the core myth of the American right and a very powerful and sucsesful weapon they use to remain in power. If he promised massive tax cuts I'm afraid Osama himself could get elected in America
By underfunding vital government services to the brink of collapse the right shows government is inefficient and the free market is always better. They don't fund properly and then use the inevitable poor service as a reason to fund it even less or even abolish it.

The only thing the American right is good at is PR because the above example of perverse power politics isn't recognized as such by most Americans but welcomed as the hollow low taxes rhetoric. Facts are Republicans are for big money and don't care about ordinary Americans whether they are Democrats or Republicans

Because they want to make friends with democrats,

No really, a true conservative wants as small as government as possible, while politician wants power, so to get elected a ‘conservative’ politician will say they want smaller government and say they will lower taxes, and may in fact lower taxes, knowing that lower taxes increases revenue to the government, giving them more money to squander.

If I remember right there are 1,000 people who are necessary for the government to function, so what is everyone else doing?

The federal government has grown way out of proportion, doing things that are not in the constitution, while the Supreme Court for what ever reason had decided that they don’t need to interpret law according to the Constitution, but international law. Congress is happily ignoring its duties, while the president passes law with his executive orders.

Sigh

It is very simple. The Conservative party of America, aka the Heritage Foundation, swore an oath to destroy Social Security. And they have and continue to do just that by squandering all of the money coming into the treasury for the next 35 years on a so called "war" in Iraq; while saying they don't think Osama bin laden is worth wasting money on.

these dolts have us $10 TRILLION dollars in debt, all of which they have borrowed from Social Security, and then turn around and tell us the Social Security fund is bankrupt.

Then they refuse to vote for funds to help keep children well so we can avoid the tax dollars our emergency rooms charge to treat these sick children.

Then they wave their "no child left behind" flag and preach apple pie. Sure no child will be left behind. They will all be dead, from poisoned products from China and no health care.

Obama merely blew 5 trillion money in his first a hundred days, his finances became a million/2 one thousand billion greater then Bush's finances. Is that the kinda squandering you're speaking approximately ? God bless.

I think they call it personal responsibility. They are personally responsible for driving this country into the worst national and trade deficits we have ever seen. I also now blame the democrats for not standing up to this administration and caving in to his spending bills for Iraq. Live long enough and you will find both parties don't do what they say and American citizens are at the low end of their spending agenda. It's much more important for the detainees at Gitmo and the people of Iraq to have our best medical care, not American citizens.

Conservatives want government spending to be cut as well... Some Republicans and most Democrats have been using tax dollars to buy votes....

Gee, do you think the Dems might be helping them a little. The over ride of Bush's veto was because there is 21 billion in pork in it and he vetoed it because it was a 5 billion dollar bill to start with.

Conservative wanting to fund projects and ideas that your are against is not squandering. That is your personal opinion and does not make it a fact.
