my board is 27.5 cm wide, isn't that a wide board? my 10.5 boots still go over on both heel side and toeside.

For most manufacturers, their normal boards are 26 - 27 and their wide boards are 31+ at the waist.

Most people with a 10.5 are able to ride a normal board, wide is usually for feet larger than 11. I wear an 11 and I ride a regular width board. It is also normal for the boot to hang over the board a little, that is why the boots usually have an angle under the toe and heel.

The other saving grace is that most modern bindings have a built-in "lifter" which lifts your boot about 3/8" above the board and gives you more clearance at the edge. This also gets you "over" the edges which makes the board easier to control.

I think your 27.5cm waist board would be fine for most 10.5 boots.

Good Luck

that is

Measure it at the waist, or very mid-point of the board. Anything near, or greater than 26cm is typically considered a wide board. If you're still getting toe drag on a wide board, I would consider bindings with adjustable gas pedals, which lift the toe a bit higher.

Make sure you're measuring at the middle of the board, and yes, anything over 26cm is pretty much considered wide. How much over to they go? If it's very little, it's nothing to worry about, but if it's over by like two inches, you got a problem.
