A letter to myself dated a year in the future from the time I found it, telling me to JUST SAY NO, from myself.
I didn't think anything of it (thought my stepdad was playing jokes because he knew I'd be cleaning the couch and does stuff like that), and the handwriting was a little different from mine so I figured it was a forgery.
Less than a week later, I ran into a guy at the mall who tried to invite me back to his place for a party - I almost did because he was a friend of some older friends, and I vaguely knew him, but then on a spur, I said no because I remembered the note (I threw it away with the other stuff in the couch, chips, etc).
0.o I found out later that he had a thing for younger girls and had a charge of sexual assault against him.
What was REALLY weird was the fact that I ended up hurting my hand later in the year, and realized that the difference it made in how I wrote resembled the writing in the letter.
I always wondered what would have happened if I went to that guy's party, and I've always wished I'd kept the note.

Newspapers, when my mum was going crazy in the house she took all the newspapers and stashed them in the sofa under the seats, then said she didnt know where they were :)

I bought this little antique sofa and about 6 months later I was moving it around and this little antique ring fell out of it. it was really cool.
