Yes, I'm talking about their support for the independent socialist Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT).

Supposed Conservatives have been opposing the most pro-market member of Congress, Ron Paul, and supporting one of the most anti-market members of Congress, Joe Lieberman.

Maybe this provides some insight as to why Rudy Giuliani (a staunch advocate of gun control) is currently leading the "scientific" polls of 2004 Republican Primary voters.

What exactly is so conservative about these anti-gun, pro-war, anti-market politicians that the supposed "conservatives" have been supporting? Isn't conservatism supposed to be about limited government, protecting our country (and therefore going after those who attack us and protecting our borders, not overthrowing the governments of 3rd world countries that pose no threat to us), and free markets? If so, why are "conservatives" supporting Lieberman and Giuliani and opposing people like Ron Paul?

Good question. Americans should be supporting a socialist who's against their war, like Dennis Kucinich.

In 08 it's all about taking back the house and senate, and beating Hillary. I don't have to agree with someone every time on every issue to know that Rudy is better you me that Hillary, just as Lieberman is a better choice than T Kennedy. I oppose Ron Paul because of his foreign policy stand.

Conservatives lost sight of what being a real conservative means when they nominated Ronald Reagan and eventually got him elected for two terms. Ron paul is a real conservative with a real conservative message. There are too few conservatives left to listen.

Since when is Connecticut a conservative state? Why can't the dems drum up enough support to beat an independent?

I totally agree.

Its pretty sad that so many Republicans are supporting someone who can't hold a more conservative view than Hillary Clinton on all the major social issues.
