Wow, well I never had LEVI's...just had the fake ones which were nowhere near the same "denim" quality...you know the way they faded to that washed out colour. (And we were into the Bay City Rollers so we would SLIT the outside seam of our jeans to the knee and sew in the tartan fabric to make them bell bottoms and stitch a one inch tartan piece along the bottom too...now THAT was cool! LOL..ok maybe not *S* )
I don't think I even knew there WERE brand names, with 3 stations on tv, who wasted time or was concerned with nonsense like brand names? No one I knew. (And I still dont.)
The only other thing I remember were "Earth" shoes...I had the fakes of those. They were the ones where the toes were up higher than the heel...were supposed to be the orthopedic shoes of the day back then...LOL
And for girls, the only other "hot" commodity in fashion (other than my "Let's Boogie" t-shirt) that I ever "had" to have was HOT PANTS! ;~)
If I had actually worn a knock off, I probably wouldn't even have known! LOL

my mom bought me clothes at walmart and once i remember her buying me some shirts from the dollar store. I mean walmart clothes arent that bad as long as it isnt jeans that say faded glory right there on the back lol....
but it was pretty bad. I only had like one pair of jeans. Maybe two and had to wear the same one like everyday and kids made fun of me for it. I even wore like size 3x shirts on my tiny little body that my aunt gave me. I tucked them in and thought they were cool!
I also remember being in 6th grade and buying an outfit from walmart and wearing it to school. I loved the outfit and then some mean girl came up to me and said, "Those are pajamas" I have some at home. I didnt believe her at first till she showed me the tag that said "Sleepwear by Gitano" lol
What the heck was wrong with me? I wouldn't be caught dead wearing non name brand tennis shoes or jeans. As for dress clothes and dress shoes though....... I will shop at walmart for those.
I dont care if that makes me stuck up or not. I dress my kids in name brand clothes except for an occasional walmart or target t shirt because i dont want them getting made fun of like i did.
