I have some computer glasses I ordered from internet that supposedly help reduce eye strain from looking into a computer screen several hours each day, but they are not that strong and I need something stronger. If you know of a good website where I could buy computer glasses in varying strengths, that would be helpful.

I'm also considering a screen for the monitor itself but haven't found one yet that fits snugly on a laptop. I carry my laptop everywhere and often have it open at odd angles so the fit onto the screen is important.

Any suggestions?

Oh, and I also take Lutein supplements specifically designed to help mitigate the effects of blue light exposure. I work with a leading worldwide nutraceutical manufacturer so if eye strain is an issue for you, email me and I'll hook you up. Thanks!

the best way is to take a break and periodically look away from the screen and focus on something else

the advice given here for reducing eye strain is all good. I'd just like to add that you should adjust your screen properly. The screen should be at arms length and your eyes level with the top of the screen. Laptops are not suitable for heavy usage as you can't do this with them and you need to add a seperate screen/keyboard. Big computer firms do not allow people to use laptops all day. Also make sure that you sit at 90 degrees to any light source , e.g. dont' face the window, dont' have a light directly behind you. Strain is temporary. There is no evidence that computers damage your eyes permanently . If there was then all computer professionals would have eyesight issues and be suing thepeople they work for.

Im an IT Consultant and I use PC's for a total of about 12+ hours a day sometimes for 8 hours at a time and I don't have glasses.

Of course I would suggest that you take breaks every 1-2 hours to prevent eye strain and make sure you have correct posture before you go out buying things.

Check this website for correct posture, distance, etc for using a PC. http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00261

Also I wouldn't bother with a radiation screen if thats what you are considering for your laptop, these were designed for older CRT monitors and unless you have an eye condition I wouldnt think you would need one.

take a rest in between use. If you are not required to use your laptop all the time why abuse/strain your eyes. be responsible, whats the use of working/studying so hard when you are going to loss you eyesight.
