Contact your local county social service agency. They will have counselors that you can talk to.

Or contact the United Way organization in your area. They will be able to refer you to a agency they fund that deals with substance abuse

You should write a paper on the sociological issues involved with our current environmental problems, ie. people's resistence to change, the sociology behind all the administration issues, etc. I'm taking a class now called People and the Environment, and the above is pretty much the focus. It's a good subject, and filled with all sorts of sub-topics to write about.

Why don't you do a report on how doctors are putting many, if not most, people on drugs only for the reason the drug companies pay them money under the table. The people often can't use the drug or it easily harms them.
I bet this new cancer vaccination, that dose not come with a guaranty to keep the Cancer away, is little more than sugar and water. Lots of money for them no matter how much Cancer they all get who take it.
A doctor put me on a drug that had nothing to do with my condition, I discovered after sixteen side effects including kidney stones. And when I called him up on all the side effects of it; he claimed I did not even know the surgeon that had removed my kidney stones, with a chuckle. Trying to con me. It was a new drug that he got lots of money for. It permitly damaged part of me.

Local AA group...They are anonymous, so they are used to talking about their problems...You should maybe try to contact the one who conducts it and ask if its OK to come and ask questions...Just explain to them that its for a paper you are doing...I'm in sociology too...just respect that you should be professional and obviously not identify any of your subjects in your paper...Thats why they made it Alcholics ANONYMOUS...Its all about privacy...Use fake names if you must discuss specific people you talk to...

That should be easy. Unfortunately many homeless people have this problem, or have in the past. If you can find one, you should talk to him. Chances are the conversation will cover that subject.

I think you might try posting a flyer indicating your goal and perhaps offer payment for their time in the form of either cash or coupons for a coffee or something. This way you get something, and they get something.

If you have Methodone clinics or recovery residential facilities, you can hang out by bus stops.
