President is the main culprit, republican and now democratic congress is also to blame...and then the people for accepting this.
So I guess everyone is to blame.

Big companies that send work over to other countries so there are no good jobs anymore, so we can become poor and buy everything at Walmart or the Dollar store and Doctors and Lawyers, basically higher paid professionals, can control everything like buying real estate and raise up prices so high you need 2 parents working all the time and can't raise they're kids correctly so they become rebellious and stubborn and rule the house, so the parents give them whatever they want to subdue them. The main problem is GREED!!!

Most britons in 1820 felt that their country was falling apart. Yet it went on to become the largest and richest empire the world has seen.
I have every confidence in USA's future, as long as we restrict government to its proper areas of competence and we let the natural decency and enterprise of its citizens take care of everything else.

In my opinion, we started falling apart about the time that the Congressional Republicans under Newt Gingrich took the majority in the House of Representatives. The Democrats were flabbergasted that they lost control, and it was exacerbated when the Republicans took the Senate and Gore lost the Electoral Vote and the White House.
The Democrats have been in attack mode ever since and I see no sign of it ever letting up. The Democratic Party seems to be populated with the most hypocritical people in the world's history.
They catered to Gerry Studds but vehemently attacked Mark Foley who's transgressions were nowhere near the magnitude of Studds.
They pounced on George Bush over the "Great Job Brownie" statement but completely forgive Ray Nagin and Kathleen Blanco for completely dropping the ball on the hurricane recovery.
They went ballistic when George Bush commuted Scooter Libby's jail term but fully support Bill Clinton's pardons of notorious criminals like Marc Rich and Clinton's own brother and his co-conspirators in Whitewater.
They continually mock George Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard but completely forgive Bill Clinton's draft dodging and the fact that, had it not been for Jimmy Carter's draft-dodger pardons, Clinton would not have been elligible to even run for Arkansas Governor.
They condemn Alberto Gonzales for firing 8 US Attorneys yet support Clinton for firing all the US Attorneys who were investigating him on Whitewater, Rose Law Firm and other matters. They even forgave Clinton for hiding the Rose Law Firm Records in the White House Residence, the one place in the Country not subject to a search warrant.
The hypocricy of the Democratic Party knows no bounds, and their constant biased actions are what's dividing this Country.

Carl, America is not falling apart. I challenge you to provide evidence that it is.
Does America have problems? Yes. I can name several. First, we are in a war in Iraq that we should never have been in (in my opinion). Second, we have serious economic issues with the over-extension of credit. Third, our balance of trade stinks. There are others, but this is a good starting point.
Who is to "blame" for all these problems? The American people should take a lot of that blame. Let's look at specific examples.
(1) Iraq: Before George Bush was elected there was significant evidence that George Bush was irresponsible and was inadequate in a foreign policy role. However, the American people allowed Bush to be elected and they got what many people expected we would get. We have only ourselves to blame for this one.
(2) Credit problems: Blame us squarely for that one. We want what our next door neighbors have or our friends, and too many companies are willing to extend credit to permit us to buy stuff. If we did a better job of living within our means and deferring purchases until we could afford them then we would not have the credit problems we have. Ultimately, people will be worse off when the credit crunch hits because they will be unable to get additional credit and they will still be on the hook to pay off their old debts, meaning serious money crunch.
(3) Trade deficits - Americans keep consuming because of easy credit and the "need" (actually want) to have all kinds of "stuff". Eventually the world economy will stop loaning the United States money to pay for "stuff" and then the dollar will decrease in value and then all the stuff we buy from China will become expensive and the trade balance will correct itself. Ultimately, the correction will be good for the United States because more jobs will return to the U.S., but the correction could be painful.

Why do you think America is falling apart?
This country is still the land of opportunity. People ride rafts across shark infested waters to come here.
We have good infrastructure, low taxes compared to other nations, low corruption. Despite what people say, you can get free heathcare, you can sue corporations, even the president of the country. There are no secret police, and you have the right to trial by jury. We are equal under the law. Races are all equal under the law. Women have all the rights of men.
I think America is the greatest country in the world, and the best hope for humanity.

America is not falling apart, and will not even though there is a certain faction that wants the world to believe that and will continue to make America look bad until after the election. The election is almost a year away so put on your waders and prepare to hold your nose until after November 7, 2008.

I believe leaders of the business community, with few exceptions, have chosen to wage a one-sided class war today in our country --a war against working people, the unemployed, the poor, the minorities, the very young and the very old, and even many in the middle class of our society....I would rather sit with the rural poor, the desperate children of urban blight, the victims of racism, and working people seeking a better life than with those whose religion is the status quo, whose goal is profit and whose hearts are cold.
