A Ghost Town is a town or community that at one time had a commercial or population center, and is either wholly abandoned or faded greatly from its peak, and now is just a shadow of its former self.

I've seen a couple but in my opinion they are left to rot instead of being restored because of not only the cost but then tourist would not go see a restored ghost town they are only interested in ruins.

east st.louis ill. it is a city built over an old city ,all the buildings from late 1800s to early 20s exist underneath still in tact that is a wicked town on top as is today and heaven only knows whats lies beneath

Have been to a couple in texas and they were cool. love history and seeing how people lived.thanks for the link and photos were good.
