Our country is more and more aimed by terrorism, this may be a possible explaination.

An increase in the security budget is good as long as it includes raises for the police. They don't make that much to begin with.

They should also have better training for the beat cop to take over some of the duties that the military police sometimes perform so that they can concentrate on tougher issues in national security.

There should be no loss of other services to the public such as sanitation.

At first, it sounds great, everybody would love more security from the bad guys, but in my opinion it won't make any difference, if they really want to secure morocco they have to fight corrupt cops, what's the use if a terrorist or drug dealer get stopped at a check point, then goes thru because he bribes or call someone?
I think the police academy needs to start hiring young educated people which morocco is full of, fire the useless shapeless corrupts, start paying them a decent salary with some health services, that's the real answer to security.

I think it's a good thing that they are willing to fight terrorism. I noticed on my last trip more security measures at the airport - that only those flying with airplane tickets are allowed to enter the doors. I did see more checkpoints with police. Often times you have to bribe the police, so I'm not sure whether more of them is a good thing! One time we had to hand over 100 euros or get a ticket for speeding when we were going under the speed limit!
