And also who's the top candidates for next year's elections so far?

Republican.

The past two elections, everyone completely insisted it would be a Democrat who was elected and look what happened. All things considered, there are more people who vote on candidate than people who vote on party which is obviously how Bush was elected twice. The majority has voted Republican for the past eight years...I don't expect it to change this year based simply on the assumption that everyone in North America who has the Internet claims to be voting Democrat.

I think it is still too early to say really, however, the Democratic sweep in the Midterm elections showed that people are beyond tired of the Republican Party.

If the Republicans would ever go back to their true roots and leave behind the crazies in the party, they would have a chance.

If you held the elections today, Democrats. By next year, who knows.

Hillary Clinton (46%) leads the polls for the Democrats, followed by Barack Obama (17%).

Rudy Giuliani (27%) leads the polls for the Republicans, followed by Fred Thompson (19%).

Democrats about 80% chance. IMO
It looks like Clinton will win but you never know. Dean was doing pretty good when he ran and look what happened.
I'll vote for, if given the chance, in order Paul, Obama, Edwards.

Ron Paul is Republicans best chance of winning. IMO
Rudy is second.
Huckabee should be number one, he doesn't get enough attention.

One thing's for sure unless Kucinich or Edwards wins, or maybe Obama: corporations will win office. Clinton and Biden are both obviously on their payroll, as are all the Repukes, with the possible exception of Ron Paul, who is still a conservative and therefore by definition cares more about capitalism than democracy nevertheless.

Democrats, its time for a change....I think the Republicans have done enough. It's time to do damage control and try and fix what bush has done to our country.

I have faith in the American People. It will be a republican. The choices for democrats are very very slim and all are wayyyyyyyy out there. think about it. You have a man that is more concerned about his hair than the national economy. You have a man that, the (majority of the country) people are not quite ready to elect a person of his color (even if he is really smart and has a kick butt wife with b@!!$) and you have a woman, that spent 8 years in the Whitehouse and could not even control her husband, not to mention she is a murderer (e.g. Vince Foster) on top of being a SOCIALIST rat.

It could be someone with half a brain and the GOP is still going to get it, because we are not ready for a democrat in office. I am sure the baldwins would love it, but they are canadians so they need to go back to THAT health care set up.....

I think it will be the democrats, republicans are in a slump right now due to a very weak and unrespected current president. unless the republicans find an amazing replacement (and i do not think any of their current nominee's qualify) the democrats will get this one hands down.
