Everyone who smokes knows it's really unhealthy but a lot of people still carry on. Telling people to give it up for their own sake just sounds preachy and will not make them quit. You have to really want to quit. I haven't "tried to quit" as such, as I was never really a smoker, I never bought cigarettes or anything, but if someone offered me one when I was out I always used to smoke it. But then I realised it gave me headrush and made me feel ill and awful the next day so I just stopped because I got no pleasure from it.

Once. It worked. From 2 packs a day to 0.
Upon getting a tooth extracted, the Dentist warned me to quit smoking for 3 days otherwise I would get dry socket. When I saw the size of the needle that he would have to use to extract the air pocket to reduce the pain, I never smoked again.

This goes out to anybody who has never smoked. DON'T! You won't have to answer this question if you have never smoked, right? Nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs in the world, isn't it smokers? And once a person is hooked, they get to see a lot of money get thrown away, they stink, and society is against them. Not to mention all the health risks they bring on themselves, and the people around them, like, let's see, oh yeah, their kids.
My parents were both smokers, and I should have a lot of warm memories of them. But too many thoughts travel to that cigarettes were more important to them than their kids. Both my parents died from smoking. My father lost both his legs, but continued to smoke.
Smokers! Don't try to quit. You don't TRY to quit. You QUIT! PERIOD! END OF STORY! And then, never smoke again.

I tried 4 times till eventually I succeeded in January.. Had smoked for 62 years.... Previous attempts were patches, but this time used Champix...a new tablet out... Stops you wanting to smoke and reduces pangs etc.. Prescription only. but it worked for me... Best thing I ever did.. Would have soon been an invalid, but am much better now,,,,.

I kept trying to give up, with no success, then i was diagnosed with advanced emphysema, at this time my first grand child was expected.
I gave up immediately and now see my beautyful grand daughter each week.
So, I Say Please, everyone, give up smoking.
