I have dialup at home, but wanted to use the internet with my daughter's highspeed connection. My laptop has wireless and accessed her broadband; it said I was connected. However, when I clicked the Internet Explorer icon, my PC prompted me to connect using my dialup connection (just like there was no connection yet). What do I need to do to let my PC know which connection to use? I have used two different dialup connections in one day without a problem.

Open Internet Explorer and click on tools/internet option up top. Then click on the connections tab and choose "dial whenever a network connection is not present"
Sometimes that wont work and you'll have to pick "never dial a connection" for the high speed connection, and change it back when you're on dial-up.
