I read about that a week or so ago... I find it strange but I'm not surprised about it. I imagine from Scientology's view, if they can hook themselves to a more mainstream religion they think they will become more acceptable to society in general and then perhaps can gain more 'converts'.
Scientology is more of a business than a religion and this is a business decision they hope will increase their coffers.

Makes sense to me.
By "the writings" Im sure they mean the courses like communications, and studying. And programs like Narconon and Criminon. According to the anti scientology sites something like 53% of scientologists are christians. Since scientology is non-denominational a person can happily be both as far as scientology is concerned. Its nice to see some christian churches less condemning attitude toward other churches.
I took a couple of scientology courses than quit. Its really good stuff. I still use it. And I didnt see or hear any of the strange alien stuff that people keep saying here is the scientology belief.

They are very smart to use this scientology technology to help their congregations improve their lives.
As a Freezone Scientologist, I hope they discover that there exist alternatives to relying on the Church of Scientology for support in this endeavor.
The technology of scientology is very useful but the Church has proven itself to be time and again untrustworthy.

Scientology is not a religion. Hubbard was a hack writer, in the worst sense. Religious people take what they want to believe from their holy books and leave the rest. Islam took what they wanted and said the rest was false. From an objected point of view, god and religion were man made and have no basis in fact. It is remarkable to me that any sane person can believe in that stuff. And by the way, free people worship no one.

Geezus you gotta be kidding me! lmao I guess the name it and claim it didn't work for them. They have to know the origins of the man who invented Scientology. Come on! He was a disciple of old 666 himself. A dark arts magician. Aleister Crowley the Antichrist himself. This is effing hilarious.
I'd give you 2 stars for this if I could.

It's kinda like Hershey's peanut butter cups.
Two (ahem) "great" cults that work "great" together.
