I'd like to know if messages in dreams count coming from our departed loved ones as a gift. I was baptised with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit 10 yrs ago. A couple of years after I've been getting direct messages in my dreams coming from my deceased mother and they really do happen after dreaming of them. I'd like to know whether this counts. It's been on my mind for the longest time and I'd like to know which gift this is. Thank you!

I can just imagine that most of you in here are Protestants. I was born and raised a Catholic and like I said I attend everything that's Catholic. I speak to a priest and not a pastor.

Beware! Messages from dead people is NOT of God.
OK, you say you were "baptised with the gifts of the Holy Spirit". Do you mean that you were baptised with the Holy Spirit? If so, do you REGULARLY speak in tongues? Why do I ask? The Word tells us that when we do this we edify ourselves and our relationship with God improves and we are lead into all truth. If these messages are proportedly from your dead mother, they are from a lying spirit who wants you away from God. See your pastor and tell him about these dreams. He should give you some sound advice and prayer.

non secular presents do no longer come out of your innovations. they arrive from the Holy Spirit which may be at artwork on your innovations, inspite of the undeniable fact that it is the Spirit working by you that does it. In Corinthians it additionally mentions the three bigger presents; faith, wish, and love. so as that should make 11 presents. yet i think there are various presents. If somebody is stable at skateboarding or writing i think of that this is a God given present. there is likewise a modern of administration and yet another present of Justice. The king had expertise from God to manage justice. (a million Kings 3:28) i've got had a number of those presents too, surprisingly discerning of spirits. For me i will sense the non secular presence of alternative people who endure each others burdens in Christ. stable success to you on your pursuit of the Holy One. Love is the ideal present, inspite of the undeniable fact that it is so worry-loose that it ought to no longer look as cool, or as mysterious.

The scenarios that you describe sound very suspect to me. I'm not God, and I'm not your judge, but receiving messages from a departed loved one sounds more like the work of a seducing spirit than that of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 8:18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are signs and portents in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion. 19 And when they say to you, "Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter," should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

I agree with Martin S.
If you have any history, in your past or that of your ancestors, of involvement in anything occult, including Freemasonry, then it needs to be dealt with.
