if i remember right, ROM is Read Only Memory and RAM is Random Access Memory. Rom is for permanent storage, like a bios or something, and Ram is for temporary storage, like when a program loads from your hard drive. it is stored there because it is quicker to access there than from the drive. plus it keeps the drive from spinning all the time, saving on noise and wear on the drive. hopefully that helps.

RAM stands for Random Access Memory. It is used to place applications in while it is running and can be updated many times during the operation of a computer.

Rom is "Read only memory" and Ram is "Random access memory" The difference is that the Rom can only be cleared if you flash it, where the Ram is cleared every time you shut off your computer.

its like a diary where in you can write or edit the contents and read the contents
it is called Random because you can start editing or reading it in any of its page... whether you will start at the beginning or middle part or in the last part based on your preference...
ROM-ready only memory
it like a storybook where in you can only read the contents but cant alter the contents through editing
