Because it's hard to bury the body, fill the grave, etc. in the dark. It's already depressing enough, anyway, without having to add darkness into the mix.

My opinion is that funerals are held during the daytime when the minister is available, because usually the funeral ends up at the cemetery where a prayer is said by the minister as the box is lowered. And people come in from out of town and therefore it's easier and safer if all the doings are held in the morning (so they can do their visiting and leave and be home by dusk or don't have to drive during the night). (I would think it's also an insurance concern of people falling in the hole and people these days are so sue crazy.) The timing is probably just for convenience and consideration to the family.. But the diggers have to cover the grave too (and make sure it all gets buried without problems) so it's good for them to cover the grave during daylight hours. (Maybe an additional question to add would be: Why do hotels/motels have an early checkout time?)

Most places view the night before that is when most people can go to see them. Then the next day they have a small viewing and then the funeral in the day to see and say good bye in the light and have the last talk and then the workers can do the rest when it light out side don't think its easy to do that job in the dark do you.

Funerals are a human rite pay honor and admire to the lifeless till now asserting good bye consistently to them. Heaven has no longer something to do with this. additionally, babies, as nicely as babies are innocents. they are no held to blame for their strikes till later in existence. they are authorised to heaven, extra actual then any guy or woman could ever be. it rather is till i've got missed guessed your faith. In some religions that's authentic a funeral rite might desire to be preformed for the soul to be released from the physique/start up the journey to the underworld/ etc etc. if so a funeral rite might desire to be held. If no longer the soul does not ascend to heaven. however maximum religions that decision it Heaven don't have this requirement if any in any respect.

A couple of reason I believe is one:the loved one is to be honored of their life by showing them in light as opposed to darkness kind of hiding the fact they have passed on 2: People would rather go to that because how would it seem to not be willing to spend two hours out of a day to say goodbye to someone who meant something to you rather than catching it after work and 3: it would be really hard to do a procession at night at it is often busier traffic and it wouldn't be as feasible. Hope that helped, cheers.

That is a good question. In modern society, wakes are at night, funerals in the a.m.

there hardly be any guests to remember the person and the priest - they would all be asleep.

But you know, just as you can buy yourself a gold lesson at 4 am, the same way you can have a midnight funeral i you wanted to and ready to pay for it
