No. They cannot officially touch a Toyota until their contract with Chervrolet has ended, which is the last race at Homestead next week.

JGR is building NASCAR race cars. No racing team has ever built a manufacturer's car. Next year, all they have to do is take off the Chevy logo and the headlight and taillight stickers and put on the Toyota logo and decals, because there is no difference among any of the teams in the body style, and the chassis and engines are built by the team.
Tony's performance hasn't "fallen." He just hasn't had the luck that Jimmie and Jeff have had. Bad pit stops, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and anger have hampered his performance during the Chase.

I heard that Joe Gibbs racing is thinking leaving Chevy and making use of Toyotas. yet i additionally heard Tony swear that he could in no way stress toyota. So i think of your buddy is slightly blended up on his data. If Joe Gibbs did pass to Toyota you'll be in basic terms approximately useful that Tony Stewart could go away Joe Gibbs Racing group. yet we could all wish that the completed group maintains to be chevy so Tony doesnt could desire to seek for a sparkling experience, and we dont could desire to instruct on yet another super group!

Yes they are building Toyota's now. Remember MWR said Gibbs is already helping them which Waltrip credited to helping Toyota improve so quickly all the sudden. You can bet they no longer get anything from GM too.

Not a lot to do to conver to toyota. Put a different body on their chassis and put a different engine in it. I bet they don't change their chassis a bit.
