I have proof I already sent all the documents of correcting the error for the dd-214.

after the 1rst app. was lost I faxed the second and that was received, with the second they sent me a letter asking for the proof of the dd-214, I sent it and they received it. when they called me for the interveiw some how they were going off the first app. it suddenly reappeared somehow. I tried explaining about the 2nd app and she said its no big deal and I told her it has the verification documents. She said thats fine she'll go off of the 1rst one. That doesn't seem justified due to the fact you can't make a unbiased conclusion with out all the facts. Its like she already had her mind made. thats why from the begining its been a nightmare and I feel like it should be reviewed.

first, get that DD 214 corrected! it will follow you the rest of your life.

second, call and ask these questions of the office that accepts applications and find out what your rights are

third, do what they tell you, only this time make sure all of your documents are in order and if you get another interview make sure you have extra copies with you, in case the others are "lost" again

if you are refused, there may be more to why they wouldn't hire you. so find out what discharge coding was used on your DD 214 and find out what that discharge coding means. it may be something the department of corrections will not accept when hiring new staff.

Contact your local Congressman or Senator and ask if they can help by

1.Contacting the right military personnel to correct the DD214 information and have that corrected copy sent back to you.

2. Send a signed letter to the Oregon DOC head, explaining the DD214 error and that they personally recommend a person of your good character and integrity be given a fair chance at a career in Corrections.

This I think will cut a lot of the burecratic red tape and get what you need done.

if your DD214 is in error, it is your responsibility to proceed to have this information corrected and to receive a corrected DD244
It is not the employers responsibility to call former employees to get corrected information.
Sounds like you have not done your part to provide correct and up to date information on your job application.
