hi im still little confussed on the ebay fees.

If i put a laptop on ebay and the starting fee costs me just over £2.00 and it sells for £500, does this mean as soon as the bidding ends ebay will take their percentage from me?

All payments will be made either via bankers draft, cheque or postal orders.

Is there any way ebay will charge me once i have received the payment as i dont want to pay a percentage for an itern that has sold but buyer is mucking about- or is this a win/loose thing?

You get charged Final Valuation Fees, on the final sale price of the item (no matter how your buyer pays). This is added to your ebay account which is monthly.

Ebay will add the Final Value Fee (based on the selling price) to your monthly statement. They DO NOT "take their cut off the top".

you can't sell anything on ebay without registering valid bank details, this is so ebay can take their fees once the auction has ended. how the buyer then pays you is irrelevent

This is my spread sheet formula:

=IF(Final Value<30,Final Value*-0.0525,(29.99*-0.0525+(Final Value-29.99)*-0.0325))

so....selling at £500 the Final Value fee would be £16.85

PayPal fees....if you used it would be £17.20 + bit more as you would pay fees on the postage too.

=(SUM(Final Value+Postage)*-0.034)-0.2

If the auction completes and the buyer never pays you start and Unpaid Item Dispute. When this is resolved you'll get your fees from e-bay back.
