To prove that god exists is impossible.
To prove that God does not exist is a waste of time, since none of the people who believe there is a God will change their minds.

u are bang on target. it is easier to prove that He doesnt exist be cause u can give a long list of 'scientific explanations'. and the best part is that since much of the logic u use is regular logic, people can get convinced easier too.
but hell it is difficult to prove He does indeed exist, coz for people to believe it all, either u must have seen God or they must have seen Him, or u must have a lot of faith.....
i personally think there is something beyond humans.. no matter whether u call it God or Ishwar or Allah, or just simply a cosmic power or whatever.
but then its a very personal thing... so may be both are almost equally difficult to prove, the earlier a lil more difficult than the latter.

The only way that you can prove that God or anything else "doesn't exist" is to prove that it is impossible for that hypothetical object to exist.

For instance, I can prove that a "square circle" doesn't exist because by definition it cannot exist. Any "proof" you think you have to show that God doesn't exist will almost certainly be proof that a "god" of your own mind, one where YOU have defined who and what God is, can't exist.

For every answer you find to prove gods existence or non existence some one will have an opposing question.
Trying to answer this question is like a dog chasing it's tail.

the idea if proving or disproving anything that could be considered mythical by some people or fact by others has been the cause of many, blood filled wars, it is a conflict of interests that has existed since people broke into multiple religions. As such, they're both equally impossible

Dear Lido,

Why bother? It's no use trying to prove or disprove the existence of god. It is a waste of time.

to have a sound proof you should first have a clean unambigious definition of god. once you have that you can take the next step that is prove the existance or non-existance of the thing you defined.

The onus of proof always rests on the positive assertion of any argument. If it weren't so, we wouldn't have the works of St Thomas Aquinas. There is no need to prove the non-existence of God. The absence of any positive proof does so already.

There is no way to prove either effectively...

But the bias is in the eyes of the ones asking or answering this question

It's easy to disprove a religion, but impossible to disprove a god. You have to give Christianity credit for staying afloat with such a mountain of evidence against them.
