It seems that whenever I drink hot brewed tea it makes my throat sore, or rather makes it hard to talk and/or sounds whiny. When I drink cold tea, like Brisk or Lipton I have no problems. I really love hot tea though, so is this normal? or should I stop drinking it?

Check with a doctor-you may have some sort of laryngeal or vocal cord dysfunction.

Yes the heat of the tea actually constricts you throat causing it to be difficult to swallow or talk

Perhaps it's the tea that you are drinking...

Switch to a more mild herbal tea and see how that feels.

Also, try adding a tbsp of honey. :)

Happy tea drinking to you!
