That is exactly what you are doing and you do not even know it. you really do want to know the truth. That is why you are on here disputing all questions fron Christians. Oh yes you are too. Otherwise you would have better things to do with your time that disputing something that you do not believe in. But, that is a good thing, stay on here and just maybe someone will say the right thing that will get your conviction. You know that God exist and you know that you need him. I know that if I did not believe in something that I would change the channel, but you won't because you ARE really searching.

You never see atheists on here trying to recruit Christians.

Atheists are driven by a cowardly moral escapism. Notice how they are offended when questioned, that's because they bear guilt.

Deluded all the way.
As an atheist for the past 53 years, I have zero interest in finding god - none at all. That's what atheists are all about. I don't need to find the truth, I already know it. I don't dispute all questions from religious folk, I try to answer them. No I'm not, too.
Better things to do with my time? I'm retired and occasionally stroll through this forum for reasons which are my own but do NOT contain any need to be saved by a long-dead con-man.
There is not a chance that any deluded xtian or any other form of religious nutter can say something that will stand up as valid or viable. Religion is a very old traditional story created to control people in ancient times - I don't need to be scared of being banished to a hell to make me behave in a civilised manner or offered a reward for being good by living forever in the sky - or wherever.
I know that your god is imaginary and not as you aver.
Need him? Yeah, as much as I need a second anus.
I am not searching for anything along the lines that you suggest. I am here to plant the seed of reality. It is far easier to convert a xtian to an atheist than the other way around. Logic wins in the end IF one is prepared to open their mind. A closed mind will keep you trapped forever in fantasy-land.
Hey, Xtians - I want to recruit you!! Join us atheists in the life of reality. Sign up here! There, does that help? You see, our recruiting is done in a more subtle way than that ...

Oh come on. You must be kidding me. Were not on here because were searching, but because we all respect each others decisions and what each and one of us believe. We never criticize the Christians for what they believe (or I don't in any case) because i mean some people just need something or someone bigger so they don't feel like they have to much responsibility.
And btw. this is called Religion and Spirituality, which does not ONLY include christians....

you are dense. that's exactly what atheists are doing: recruiting christians by spreading logic and truth.

why? to take back our government out of the hands of those who Willfully Suspend Their Disbelief, because they don't want to think about the sadness of not seeing loved ones after they die.

such childish refusal to live in reality is counter-productive at best in the hands of a democracy, as demonstrated over the last 500 years. and we'd reather our children live in a world that is safe, then with the flimsy, false belief of safety.

that's why i'm here: to rid the world of christianity one christian at a time.

Well, your amateur psych could use some work... Personally I'm here to try and understand why Christians would believe what they do - after all, it's all pretty unbelievable.

You're right though, athiests don't recruit Christians. We have respect for other people's beliefs. Unlike Christians. Thanks for pointing that out, by the way.

Atheists don't recruit! They aren't a mind-control experiment gone rogue! They don't give a rat's patootee if Christians, Hindus, Jews or Muslims convert OUT of religion!

Sorry to burst your idealistic, though gullible bubble, but atheists are largely here to make fun of you all and to answer atheist questions!
LOL

Yes, I am searching. As a scientist, I am always searching. But searching for falsifiable evidence, not believing blindly. Christianity and religion in general is destructive to our society. That is why I am on here. So stop pushing your "morals" on others!!! Follow the flock if you want, but stay out of our lives!

I enjoy a good debate and it passes time at work, that's why I'm on here. Plus some people on here a pretty funny. I doubt anyone is converted to one belief or another by R&S.

Actually I've told a few people to stop believing in God.

I got WAY MORE thumbs down than a Christian doing the same thing does.

If I told you the sky was made of purple spaghetti sauce would you correct me? Probably right? I mean especially if I went around proclaiming it to everyone I knew. you see we do it to save you from embarrassment. we aren't trying to deconvert you, We just wish you would stop being so ignorant. I mean you are choosing to ignore reality and it's sad. Like Thomas Jefferson once said. "Sometimes Ridicule is The only Weapon against unintelligible propositions. "

Remember that and you will understand our point of view.

Everyone is searching for the truth, but not everyone believes christianity is the truth. For some, Judaism is the truth, for others, it is islam or hinduism or buddhism.

You assume christianity is the truth, but maybe it is not.
