Okay, so I live in Ohio, just got my conceal & carry license a few months back. I don't yet have a weapon. The problem is, since getting it, I'm terrified of getting pulled over just for the thought that they might THINK I'm armed. I just got a new law book in the mail, and it sounds like I'm not supposed to volunteer that I have my license now? Do they know BEFORE they pull me over that I hold the license?

Not sure if the data base will have that info. I would not say anything unless they ask or they might see the gun. Like if it is on you waist or in the glove box.

Most of the cops I've talked to suggest that when you hand over your licence and registration, tell the officer that you have a concealed carry permit and are carrying a firearm. DON"T say "I've got a gun", but if you alert the officer that you have one, when s/he runs your licence, they shouldn't be surprised. It pays not to make the police nervous, and it shows cooperation.

From what I understand I believe that you are supposed to tell the cops if you're carrying.
