Lots of articles always stressing the point that Indonesian only use one name, what's the big deal abt it? sort of practice in journalism? thanks

Addtion: I am referring to newspapers in the US.

I live in Australia and I must admit I have never heard that kind of thing.

I am Dutch, and as such I had to learn some Indonesian names, (it is our national history,) and I have met several people whose parents or grant parents had lived in Indonesia (then Dutch India,) and in all cases they used a first and a family name.

Also in the news about Indonesia as shown in the Netherlands, and wherever else I was at the time, they always use first and family names. (Or mister, miss or president, with the family name, as they do for all other countries as far as I know.)
