I remember when my sunday school teacher told us how fun it will be in heaven. She would tell us that we would get anything we wanted, run away from all our problems.

It's like she was encouraging us to die and go to heaven.

Are you sure it was in those words, sometimes people talk to kids a little different, and I am sure she was not telling you that, The Holy Kingdom is where we go when we believe Jesus took our sins upon that cross, that is the only way we can be save, God describes The Holy Kingdom in the Bible, Death will be gone, WE will have an eternal life with Christ, we won't be left behind, All of our problems will be gone, sin will be gone, Yes it will be wonderful, but we have to go on Gods time, not our own, WE have to follow Gods Plan, and will for us in this life.

Your Sunday school teacher was also trying to brainwash you in a sense. I cannot recall anywhere in the bible where it states that heaven will be "fun". There are not a whole lot of descriptions given of heaven anyway.

Of course, your teacher was bringing the "facts" of the faith down to the level of a child. I think this in many ways dumbs down what you would eventually come to know and I would consider this the telling of a lie. But how else is one to capture the innocent and naive hearts of children?

Well, although heaven is a place far better than anything we could ever imagine,God has put into everyone the basic instinct of self preservation, that's his way of making sure we don't cheat in the human race, those who cut in the line of life are very selfish.Everyone has a purpose to fulfill, and until your mission here on earth is completed and the good Lord calls you home it should be your desire to help to bring comfort, love and joy to as many souls as you possibly can while we travel this dusty road together.Your Sunday school teacher wasn't encouraging you to go and blow your brains out but was encouraging you to look forward in hope to heaven that you might be comforted with the truth that if you are a child of God through faith in his Son Jesus than you are just a pilgrim passing through this wilderness called Earth. This world is not my home but as long as God See's fit to keep me around this strange place, than it is my hope to be a blessing to as many as possible. And I hope that, that is your hope also.God Bless.

You will not go to heaven immeditely aftyer your death. Your soul will be under the care of God until judgement time and when found out that your sins were forgiven and have not committed unforgivable sin, you will go to
heaven to live eternally with God.

Your teacher is encouraging you to do good things inorder tht you will not be tempted to do evil things which is against the law of God. You have misinterpreted your teacher.

Christians do make heaven sound like such a grand place...you have to wonder why they're all not clambering to get there, and why they all still seem so sad when a loved one dies...sort of a paradox to me...

I think she was trying to reassure people that if they had relatives who died, they would be happy there, and if something did happen to them, they would be in a happy place. I think ultimately she was trying to say that death isn't something to be feared.

She also should tell you the horrors of hell which does exist. The atheists will find out. You will find out that atheists are on here because they are searching for the truth and they do not even know it. Otherwise they would not bother being on here.

Wishful thinking based upon false promises.
Such a pity that this persists in modern society.
