I have a chase mastercard and near my credit limit. I need to buy something by the end of today no later because its a promotion that will end. I paid my credit card $1600 on early november 11th. It is now the 12th but the payment still says pending online. Would it be okay if I spent that $1600 today? Because the payment will probably post before the items I buy will I still get charge overlimit fees? Will they even let me go over limit?

I actually don't care if they charge me over limit fee. I just want the ability to go over my limit because the money I will save outweighs any fee many times over.

In this case, you have to fall back to your cardmember agreement. Just because the system says "pending", the payment may have already been received. Usually, it takes 1 day for the payment to officially hit the account. However, you should contact Chase to find out if they show the payment as crediting your account yet. Some systems allow you to make a purchase over your credit limit because you have a pending payment. It depends, but be careful.. This is one of the common ways for the credit card company to make money..

If the payment has not been poste, then it has not been paid....Officially. It depends on your Credit company on what charges may be charged to you. It may not even go through. Does not hurt to try.

Good luck and fun with your new purchase.
