Bleaching is bad for your hair, but sense you have dark hair, that's pretty much the only way to go, is to bleach it and then put some color, or high or lo lights in it. I am Asian and have pitch black hair. I get my hair bleached and dyed every 4-6 weeks. Aslong as you maintain proper care, and don't do it everyday, it's really not that damaging. Just make sure you use products that are designed for color treated hair. =)

Bleach always, but since you have dyed your hair black, this is the worst damage you can possibly do to your hair. If you want the put hightlights in your hair, it will turn out to be a caramel color the first time, but if you want it all over, that is color correction and that will be soooo expensive (about $70-$300). My advice it to get highlights and don't dye your hair black ever again!
PS: Black is a filler color, so you will never need to bleach your hair again to get it back to black because it absorbs the most of any other hair color. Black will bond to your hair forever unless your bleach it again. Be careful bleaching your hair so much because you might get breakage soon!

I have really thin hair too, it sucks lol I've been dying and bleaching and dying and bleaching my hair for about 6 years and it is pretty damaged. If you've only really done it once or twice you might as well just bleach it. the stripper will just damage it as much as the bleach. Just give your hair a few days of rest before doing the brown. It really comes down to either dealing with damaged hair or having blond hair for a week.

You actually need to do both. Especially if you have black hair. Bleach can be many things. In this case, it's your primer for your dye, so it looks good over darker hair.
And, absolutely. A stylist can do anything for you. Simply bring in a picture of what you want, and she/he can do it.
Hope I helped! Good luck!

bleaching your hair will do more damage.
and it depends on what type of hair coloring you're doing. if you're doing just highlights, then bleaching it will make the color brighter, but if you have long hair, the tips can get really rough. but say you're going to color your whole head, then try to avoid bleaching. but for highlights on black hair, bleaching+coloring would probably yeild the brighter color (such as red, blue, green, purple, etc.)

bleaching is worse. it is a chemical process which is worse than dying, although dying damages the hair, bleaching is far worse. :)
