the church is the body of Christ here on earth...it's not a building, it's the people. church is from the greek, meaning "the called out"...

i used to be a christian that didn't go to church. my reason? i've never been to a church that adhered to jesus' teachings. they are all missing the point. then i learned that their form of worship goes back about 5000 years and i learned that christianity is not based on the teachings of jesus, but on the traditions and ceremonies of a thousand other gods that are unified by the word "savior" and given the name "jesus christ."
i am no longer a christian, most likely because i had the cutting edge on other christians: the freedom to figure out things for myself rather than a bunch of stuff to just memorize and regurgitate back.
kinda like high school.

Personally, I've found it very hard to find a body of believers who except me as well as my methods of worship. My views on the subject are this:God adores all worship and praise, regardless of the location. I prefer the outdoors in solitude. Though I do believe it is essential to occasionally spend time in fellowship with other Christians for support and encouragement.
Brightest Blessings

I believe in God and I always rely on Him but I seldom go to church when the priests in our country start to meddle in politics. I feel they are using the pulpit for political reasons. So, I pray anywhere I am and anytime of the day.

I am sure there are some who believe they are christian who do not go to church. but the bible does tell us top meet together for worship. if you know Jesus you would want to meet with other christians and must forgive any misunderstandings.

There are many inactive Christians. l myself am guilty of not being a regular churchgoer. l pray daily with my family and the rosary as well. We should really visit God in church as this is His place of worship.

...Jesus explained to "us" thru Scripture that "we" should "forsake not the assembly of ourselves" for His worship... Mostly, "we" don't attend because of our misguided beliefs that "church" is filled with hypocrites and "we" dilute ourselves into believing that "we" can do it on our own... Be careful tho... "many" (so called churches) believe that "they" are the "one" to show you the Way... unless "that" Church follows Scripture and not the dogma, doctrines and traditions of "old-men" and "special new" prophets who claim to have had spiritual revelations that force you to practice "religious gymnastics"... stay away from "them"... Jesus clearly stated that "He" was the "Way", the "Truth" and the "Life"...NOT the traditions, dogmas and religious gymnastics of man... you don't need "bells" or "smoke" or special "water" or "trinkets" or special "garments" or special ceremonies or special "people" to find God thru His Son, Jesus...

No, I have learned about God from my Christian relatives. I go to church RARELY, because sometimes they babble on and I can't have my attention span always on them. I know all verses in the bibles because I've read them in the past, but now I have all I need to know.

For about 5 years, I didn't go to church, but now I do...
Personally, I don't think it's important that I *HAVE* to go to church on Sundays to be close to God.
But I go to take the sacrament...
