This stumped a few people back in the 40s and 50s, when steam engines belched a trail of smoke everywhere they went. After all, diesels and electrics weren't that common.

Steam engines were last seen a half-century ago. It's long past time to put this ancient and meaningless brain teaser to rest.

Second, electric trains do not produce smoke.
