Hi Soupmonkee,
We dream as a matter of experience. Every day, our experience can take place during any frame of our lives, reflecting, often, on the things which matter most at this point.
there are 3 portions of any particular dream. That being the beginning, the middle, and the end, of course. The beginning, tells how a dream's "story" began, where to look first, often reflecting the past portion of the issue as it started. The middle, is the dreamer's point of view, their "side of the story". and the end, is where things are currently, how things ended.
We dream because we have to enter the kingdom to write the pages of our life''s story. History is what it is. it is told one day at a time as long as we have breath.
we dream as a matter of the differences between the subconscious and conscious mind. The subconscious is the spirit, it is what is inside of us of God. it takes over when we lay the body down to rest. But, as we sojourn with open eyes, the conscious mind, or the body is in control of thoughts.......
When we "go" to sleep, we enter the kingdom of God. it is why we are able to see the dead. Yet, they cannot cross from here to life as we cannot cross into that side they are on, lest we die in our sleep. (luke 17:21)
While we are dreaming, we are "reporting" all that we have done in a day. Which is why I say, no man can get away with murder. He has already reported his doings. we are telling our side of the story of the history of our life.
Great chapters are great changes in our lives. Days are pages of our history.
Our bodies, become like the synonymous differences between death and sleep. While it is said, "Let the dead bury the dead", it is not dead people in a literal sense. But, in sleep, the body is as dead because the world goes on without your conscious thought of it..... We enter the kingdom and in the presence of the Lord, as they say of the dead.
Dead in dreams is not dead, it is change..... and sleep is not sleeping, it is to be unaware as the eyes must be open to see, to keep them closed is unawareness.... and dead is as having absolutely no knowledge of truth. - and so are used interchangeably in Scripture.
We do not leave the body as there is a thin line between life and death. It is a silver cord (Eccles 12:6-7) which is prevalent here that prevents us from going to the other side. Yet, it is also that the soul is the body, and the spirit is the dreamer - the image of God - Being born, the body and the spirit intertwined like a mesh fabric and became one as if married or united...... We do not leave the body till it is no more as dreams would then cease - (Psalm 146:4)

Ginger,

Dreams are facinating!.. I love them.. good ones.. bad ones.. all of them.. There is a fine line between reality and fantasy.. your mind takes pictures.. from the day you are born.. your dreams can take something that might have happened in reality many moons ago and your imagination my add to it.. I believe that dreams are a true way of telling you something.. kindof bringing your past, present and future all into one.. A dream dictionary is great and is fun to follow when you have dreams you remember.. someone higher up may be trying to relate important information that you need to know..Your soul doesn't leave your body.. although there are out of body experiences that are really cool.. I was awake with mine.. Start a journal.. follow your dreams interpretations.. see if you can realate your visions with your realities.. try to determine what is past, present or future. Your mind is like a photographic filing cabinet.. there are things in there that you didn't know were even there..

when your body sleeps, the heart rate slows down, you breath heavier which brings a larger amount of oxygen into your body, allowing you to make and store energy for the next day,. however your brain has little to do, and particularly, your senses have little to do, so your memories recycle through your eyes and ears and sometimes hands tounge and nose, but they dont look exactly like memories because you cant actually perfectly recreate those moments, so often the imagination takes over and what you have are a series of images and noises that appear to you as a story or image or whatever, and sometimes you remember them in the morning and sometimes you dont depending on how much of your own memories are influencing the dream

Scientifically speaking, the most widely accepted theory on dreams is theory of random activation. Basically, the brain has a base rate of firing nerve impulses, even while we are asleep. Our minds, in an attempt to make sense of all of this, interpret this and assign a story to it. It generally resembles issues that we are dealing with combined with dreams/aspirations/hopes with a little of our anxieties and fears mixed in for a little flavor.

the sub-concious mind takes bits and pieces of our real life and constructs a scenario that is often impossible. Dreams can be pleasant or scary...even most experts cannot fully explain this phenomenon. I had one where my mother used an IRON on clothes which was NUCLEAR powered. I had seen a movie earlier that day about a nuclear conflict, and later helped my mom fold the laundry.

From my understanding, they are coming from the subconscious and you are working the issues out or your subconscious is trying to make to see something about your life. Sometimes they even take you forward in time and introduce people to you, and events, that you will meet in the future. Time frame could be hours, days, or months ahead. If that happens try to remember that dream, it will come in handy when it unfolds.

Hey there
some people say that we travel in our dreams and that our spirit angels send us our loved ones and send us messages we might need to hear in certain dreams. I know that dreaming is important for the sleep cycle as well.

Your souls don't leave your bodies...your subconsious just creates a sort of simulated life while you're asleep for something for your mind to do so it doesn't get confused as to why we wouldn't use feelings or responses for several hours.
Or at least that's what I think.

dreams originate from the conscious and sun conscious mind.
events day to day will determine how often you dream and what you dream about.
when you go to sleep, your mind begins to play back a representation of what has happened recently.
that's as much as i can explain as i am not an expert on the subject.
look up sigmund freud and carl jung, it is believed they are experts on dreaming.

I'm happy to chat with you about this. I can only speculate from my personal experiences with Amazonian Shamanism and learning to lucid dream over the past several years.
Feel free to drop me a line!
