I just thought sooner is better, before they are big enough to jump up and down on things that are a little high. Don't want him to hurt himself while he is healing. Am I wrong to want to get it over with while he is a baby?

You can get a Kitten Neutered at 2 or 3 lbs but it's really not safe. They spay and Neuter kittens at the animal shelter at that size. I'd wait until its at least 5 months old before going through the procedure.

Five and a half months old, that is the youngest andd the perfect time, the kitten will be in right before her heat cycle, which is 6 months pold. If you are unsure of the kitten's age, let the vet determine it. Never have it done while she is in heat, she could die.

I got mine neutered at 5mths. I consulted with the vet cos I don;t even want my kitten to go into heat for the first time.

My mother says that in her area, animal shelters offer up six week old kittens for adoption that have already been spayed or neutered.
