my girlfriend has severe asthma and should undergo appendicitis soon.but I'm worried if asthma could affect her inflammed appendix when she has her attacks or the surgery itself.

The illness is called appendicitis. The surgery to remove it is called an appendectomy. She should tell her doctors (the surgeon and the anesthesiologist) that she has asthma (and also tell them about any other medical conditions she has). She should also tell them what medications she takes.

I"ve been an asthmatic and I've never had trouble with my appendicitis and if she's not going in for emergency surgery why would they want to take it out??? It's not something that's usually done unless it's been come inflamed in which case it should be taken out right away to avoid a possible rupture of the organ. It 's not something that's done on an out patient basis usually. She might need a second opinion to make sure that it's her appendicitis that's the problem and not something else.

Appendectomy is the surgical procedure. The two conditions are not related. The anesthesiologist, who puts her to sleep, should be aware of her asthma. But, other than that, she should be just fine.
