I like this girl by the way, a lot. I just want to talk about something that could keep up in a conversation, any tips on how to start a conversation like that?

when faced with a situation like that it's better to just tackle it head on. If the two of you have chemistry then it will switch on automatically. I remember being on both ends of this stick and once I even had a whole paper of conversation topics written down before talking to this guy I was feeling and when the time came I just froze up. I panicked even more when I looked down at the paper and it seemed like the text had instantly turned into an unknown language. Luckily, he sensed my nervousness and he lead the conversation, I just followed and we have been talking for 2years, as friends, but talking nonetheless. I've also been placed in a situation where the guy really liked me and was very nervous and I made it easy for him to talk to me. If she likes you then she will help you by allowing you to take your time to get out your words or whatever. Ask God to word your mouth and then go for it.

well first do the basic how are you today? or how has your day been? ....then she might say good and then you go on or she might say bad then you ask her why, that can get it going or she just might off the bat get a conversation started ...it all depends on how it goes... if shes anything like me then she will keep the conversation going! lol ...but if she just said good then maybe go to a did you do anything fun? or maybe talk about something at you know she likes ...or maybe tell her how your day has gone if she asks but don't just say good because then shes stumped! lol ...and be sure to listen so you can respond back with and actual comment on it

Think back to where you know her from. If she is in your class call to ask her about something that the teacher said, claiming you just got distracted and missed that key point. If you met her at a sport talk to her about the game. If you have the same kind of pet (cat, dog, iguana) ask an animal care question.

You must have encountered he in some context so make that work for you.

It's hard to tell. Depends from where do you know her (school, etc). You must have something in common if you met. You can start simply by asking how is her day going? Did she do anything fun? and then add to that what you did? and at least that would start your conversation.

you start with how is she doing.
then you ask what she has been up to.
then you ask if she wants to hang out some time.
then you ask what she would be interested in doing.
then base your next question on that.
what kind of movie, music, tv, etc she likes.
also talk about what you like.
maybe do a little research before you call.
if you know she likes a certain band, listen to them.
also find out music similar to what she likes so you can suggest some things.
try to find obscure bands that she probably hasnt heard of, but will probably like based on her kind of music.
to find this out ask that question in the music category, or you can go on amazon, type in the band, and look at the suggested stuff.
its good to have a little insight on things she might like.
make her a cd of songs you think she would like.
then she has to think of you whenever she listens to that cd.
if you hit it off she will think of you whenever she hears that a song you introduce her to.

Ask her questions about herself and then actively LISTEN to her answers. That will lead to more questions and then the conversation will flow.

Just relax. Chances are she's just as nervous talking to you and if you crash and burn it's not the end of the world. If she's really worth the effort she'll know you're nervous and be nice to you.

Friends, childhood memories, video games if she's into them, sports, school, family, try to get to know her... talk about hobbies and look for things you guys have in common... there's plenty to talk about but your brain just goes blank so write what yuo want to talk about on a piece of paper next to you and try start a conversation.
GOOD LUCK!

You'll know you were meant for each other when you can just pick up the phone and start talking w/o any pre-planned conversation in your mind.

Alright, first of all, are you studying? If you are, ask her about homework or assignment. Try to show that you are unable to do your work. That will give you the opportunity to spend more time with her. She will not think that you are weird. However, if she is your colleague, ask her about her area of work which is in relation with your line of work. Then, the conversation will be kept rolling.
