Hi!

I am 33 years old. Male. Not over weight.

I recenlty started to jog and can do that slowly for about 2 miles non-stop.

However, while I am running and get tired, negative thinking starts to come into my mind. For example, bad feelings about my daily life ,work and negative things which happend in the past.

I know this might sound strange, but it does happen to me.

How can I make myself actually enjoy the run more? What sould I "tell" myself during the run?

Back in the day....when the earth was still cooling...LOL I used to run. When I got tired, I would set little goals, like get to that stop sign. YEAH, I made it!! WHOO HOO, I'm the bomb...now let's get to that tree up there....WOW, I'm the coolest EVER!! It became a fun game and motivated me to go further each time. Good luck and make it FUN

I get those same thoughts that run through my head while i run. Electronic music does it for me, Specifically trance. I just pay all my attention to the music and the sounds that i hear coming from it. I also set myself a goal, a distance that I want to atleast finish and tell myself I'm not going to stop until i complete that goal. Good Luck with your running and "Just Keep Going".

I don't advise music or anything that's a permanent distraction to what's happening around you, like cars and dogs.

What I suggest is to visualize yourself in a race, no matter what your actual speed, and think of running with the "big dogs". Fantasize about how you'll finish, huffing and puffing and ascending to the winner's spot.

Running is mind over matter much of the time, so you're no different.

Good Luck
