As you go through life you will often find that what seems like the best career choice today, may not be the best career choice tommorrow, for a variety of reasons. Your desires, needs, and lifestyle and abilities change over the yers and this changes your career goals.

When I left high school and went to college, I wanted to be a music major. My whole life was music, and performing music. I got a scholorship to college performing and started, learing more about music.

While in school, many of my friends were graduating and ending up working in retail stores and restaurants, and even the friends I had who got record contracts, put out one or two albums and disappeared.

I was fortunate and had a friend who was studying to be an anesthetist. To get there he had to go to nursing school though. But the idea sounded good to me. I was able to get an athletic scholarship and switched my major to nursing.

When I got out of nursing school, I didn't go on to anesthesia school, I was hired to work with a Cardiovascular Team and was paid lots of money. I thought is was a great thing. Then I found myself putting in 84 - 96 hour weeks. I was on call for 4 weeks at a time. I did the job for a couple of years and moved to a small town where I worked less than 40 hours a week. I did this for a while, until I met a young lady and got married.

We decided we wanted to try something different, so I joined the Army. While in the Army, I worked in operating rooms, then trained some officers in basic training, then taught anatomy and physiology to health care students.

Then the Army sent me back to school. When I got out of school, I trained and went into family practice. I worked in Family Practice for a while, until I was forced to retire from the Army due to injuries I got while in Central America.

I went into practice with a friend of mine from the Army as a civilian and worked with chronic pain patients.

I then stopped that, and retired again at 47. I now own a business and some investments and stay home.

What career would I do...the one that works out right at the time!

I struggled with this and had different jobs and now I've landed in the Education field and believe this is the best choice for me. For someone else it could be the worst. The best career choice is an individual thing.

Wow, you made me reflect somewhat. I basically pressed my youngest to get right into a school that applies little ones from starting up middle and severe college to concentration on advance technology medicine and to be straightforward paintings. i extremely favor her to get a gos practise and that i pressed her to get it at the same time to bypass the front tests. She did and is doing properly to this point. properly your interest in psychology is a good one. that is a occupation that ought to help many, you could also grant help in keeping inclusive of your faith. So those of a similar faith can come to you for help and also you could handbook them. you're the guy who has to stay on your skin, you should be tender there. in case you do not favor to stay contained in the exterior of a Dr. then you won't be able to as you'll continuously ask your self what if. each and each and every time you're unhappy as a Dr. it will be their fault as you'll say what if I grew to change into what i needed to change into then i'd be at liberty going into paintings on the instantaneous.
