As the other poster have said you can use your debit card anywhere that takes it. I travel for business in Canada and have never had a problem using the debit card. When I've gone outside the country the US is a little bit of a problem finding the correct banks but once found there wasn't a problem. I've used it in the UK to withdraw money from my account in Canada with no problems.

The only problem is if you can't find your bank's ATM then you will have to deal with the service charges.

Other than that enjoy your tirp and safe home

Yep. Whatever bank you deal with, if it is national, will have machines across Canada. If you deal with CIBC, or Presidents Choice, you can take out money from the machines in 7-Eleven. If you deal with Bank of Montreal, you can take out money from the machines in Safeway. You can also use the machine at any other bank or credit union machine, however, all the banks charge a fee to give money on other cards. All the machines with all the banks and credit unions in Canada are on the Interac system. There are also private lable machines in hotels and shopping centres. They will charge you an extra fee no matter whose card you are carrying.

If you are shopping using a debit card, it is no different from shopping at home, you just swipe your card, enter your pin, and the machine does not care which bank you deal with in which city.

That is no problem! Banks are national in Canada. You should see you same bank. And even if you don't find your bank, you can use any kind of card across the country.
