I believe in the Bible so this isnt a bash on the Bible or on christian beliefs, but come on people. How can you seriously look at your christian beliefs and then with a straight face call mormons crazy or in a cult???? I know my beliefs might sound a little out there to people that dont believe or fully understand them. I can admit that. Why cant you? How can you judge mormon beliefs as any more crazy then yours?

And finally, how are mormons a cult just because they dont believe the same things you do? By your own logic, then, cant mormons turn around and call your sect a cult for not believing just like them since mormons believe the church is a restoration of the original church of God and that it is YOUR sect that seriously distorted the message of God?

The virgin proof of Christ has been proven, really? Wow can I see that evidence? You believe it was true, but it hasnt been in any way proven.
I believe the mormon doctrine to be true, so does that mean it has been proven?

What- you mean that three Gods in one body is a crazy notion. I bet next you are gonna say that Jesus praying to himself and pleading with himself in the final days of his ministry also makes no sense (ie..Gethsemene- fater i would that this cup pass from me, but not my will but thine be done- or father Forgive them). You think that is crazier than God The father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost actually being three sepreate people united in purpose. Next you are gonna tell me that when we die that we are not gonna actually be married to "the church" but we may have the opportunity to live with our families. I could go on.

You speak Blasphemy!

Great point- It really is the pot calling the kettle black.

Oh Wait- I am LDS. You are right.

I don't call Mormons a cult. In fact, I only say positive things about Mormons, and I have a history of defending Mormons on this site. But the traditional view of the Christian Church is that Mary was a Virgin - not that she was impregnated by God. In other words, the miracle was the Mary conceived without 'sperma' (to use the Greek term). But the concept is often misunderstood on this forum, with people assuming that she was impregnated by God.

Your points are well made. It is a very closed minded person to think that their point of view is the only one taht counts.
How has the world progressed through the ages? With people being open to new ideas. Otherwise, we would still be in the dark ages.
Mormon doctrine is tried and true. Just ask God with real intent, and the truth will be revealed thru the power of the Holy Ghost.
I have done this and found it to be so.

The time-line, historical authenticity and the inspirational source of the writers of ANY book are objects that deserve careful consideration by the reader. Faith does not require "proof" by physical, empirical standards.
Every person is saved or condemned by the consequences of his or her own beliefs or the absence thereof. Name calling on either side is unfounded and pointless. Judge not that you be not judged. **"God is a SPIRIT." (A spirit is not limited to the laws of the physical world that constrain mankind.) For example, sexual intercourse is physical act of the flesh, not a spiritual one. Jesus Christ was not an ordinary "baby".

It is what it is. People can make fun of my beliefs all they want. they can make fun of mormon families and stuff. they can make fun of things that they know mean a lot to us. But in the end mormons are people too and when people purposely try to make fun of us then let them do that. as a Mormon it is annoying to here people make fun of us but I've learned not to worry about them and that if they want to spread this. crap about us that isn't true then just let them. In the bible it says not to judge.

Mormons have a right to believe whatever they want.

I just wish they would stop claiming that the Jesus they incorporate into the name of their sect is the same one that we authentic Christians know and love, because that can't possibly be true, as the two are as different as night and day.

I dunno. I'm still trying to figure that out.

PSST! It technically is a cult. At least, it started that way, lemme find a link before I get massive thumbs down....

EDIT:there you go. Thumbs down away now. ^_^

Hey honey, I'm LDS too. There's no shame in being a good cult. Note that the sociological definition shows that cult is the first step in being a church! It's not always a bad thing....

Because the virgin birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is only one of hundreds of old testament prophecies fulfilled in, through and throughout his birth, life, crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection.

Whereas NONE of the theological or historical proclamations of Mormonism (and its original leaders, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, in particular) has ever been proven to be true.
