This is hard to explain, especially on a forum like this. You might just write this off as another Chirstian making up excuses, but I'll try my best to answer your question. I believe that Christians do have the truth and are lead by the Holy Spirit. The reason there are so many demononations is because the Bible doesn't go into 100% detail of how a church should be run. The Bible is a love story. It shows how God will do just about anything for us. It's not an insturction booklet as to how to live your life. So many things are left up to inturpritaion. There are a buch of different demoninations because people think certain things should be done differently than others (ie: baptisims, communion, confessions, even marriage and loads of other stuff). At times people can even inturpet the Bible differently. There are always debates over if a certain verse is meant to be taken literally or not. I think no one has recived an answer from God as to whcih way(s) is right is because God doesn't care. If he did he would have put in the his book. And as for a lot of the bad things you mentioned, I think most of those people probably just claimed to be Christians. I know about the crusades more than the others so I'll stick with that. Those guys were going around and killing other people in the name of God. If they would have actually read their Bibles or prayed to God I bet they wouldn't have done what they did. I think they just used religion as an excuse to attack people. It was wrong and I think anyone, christain or not, will tell you that. I hope that helped at least at little.

I suggest you study both sides of the issue regarding the crusades, the inquisition, and the "dark ages" and you might be surprised at what was really going on during those times.
There is only one version of God's honest truth, and Jesus entrusted that sacred deposit of faith to only one church.
It is that authentic and universal church which is charged with defending God's truth, no matter what.
Sometimes the battle gets bloody, and sometimes things get out of hand.
Such is life.
God never promised perfection or peace until he comes again. Instead, he told everyone to go out and buy a sword ... and learn how to use it.
In the mean time, God continues to make do with sinners, just as he always has, since the beginning.

The Holy Spirier guides human beings to all reality it rather is our flesh and techniques that gets in the way of the hot element the Holy Spirit is doing at that element. it rather is approximately Jesus not demoninations or any doctrines.

Seems to me that many so-called Christians have neither the truth nor accept guidence by the holy spirit due to ignorance and wishful thinking.

Denominations are man-made, they did not come from God, people who couldn't agree or wanted a 'religion' that lets them please themselves. The same basis for the Crusades, etc., those things began with people thinking it was a rightous cause, but they ignored the fact that we are to model ourselves after Christ's example & not our own interpretaions of what we want God to be.

Well maybe God doesn't exist and all these quest for "faith" is really a quest for power and world domination in disguise. Think about the power of the Vatician. What do you get in return? All you get is a sense of security about death.

Simple: Christians are called to be christ like, as much as posibble,
If you find any conflict, bad behaivior, negative personas etc. They are not Christians. Even if they claim to be.

Not every one who cries Christian knows Jesus as savior.
You know they are like illegal aliens.
Try to blend in, but you know them by their works, and the taxes they pay.
Why is this so hard to understand?<><
