What I think would be best for you to improve your English is associate with people who are not of the same ethnic background as you. It forces you to think in another language, since 99% of the time, they won't understand a single word in your native tongue. If you want to be around Mexicans or Hispanics for that matter, try to converse in English 90% of the time, and Spanish 10% of the time. Make it a rule around your friends who can understand your native tongue. Or what you could try to do is speak in Spanglish. Use English words you know by heart, and the words you don't know, say them in Spanish. Then someone who understands what you're trying to say may help you figure out the word.

Hope that helps. Good luck on improving your English. I'm sure you'll be fluent in Inglés as most of us on this site.

Maybe you can band together with some of your classmates for extra language practice.

I know EuroTalk, and maybe Rosetta Stone have English-learning programs that may help.

If you have easy access to movies or television shows in English, that can really help with "slang" and pronunciation. Books in English could widen your vocabulary and help with sentence structure as well.

Te defiendes bastante bien! Lo mejor para aprender muy bien un idioma es verte obligado a hablarlo, y cuanto mas tiempo, mejor. Si no puedes venir a los Estados Unidos un mes, lo mejor es unas clases donde solo permitan hablar ingles.

hi, English is just an easy language. just start reading newspapers or magazines related to Ur favorite topic and start speaking to everyone in and around u only in English. first ask them to convey in English and later in Ur mother tongue and find whether they understand it and respond to u correctly. and by speaking itself we can be more fluently. don't worry it is just an easy language
