We were ASSIGNED Iraq, Iran, and all Arabs and Muslims to hate. Our hate is being FED by the media. When the job is done, and we are again ASSIGNED another people to HATE, will we think for ourselves then?

The terrorist attacks should have opened our eyes to our ignorance. We shouldn't be allowing our government to do the things we oppose!! We should demand our country back!

I have not watched ANY news due to this. Call the media liberal, but it's obviously biased, not giving us the truth, and has become magazine entertainment.

If any of you agree, join me in lowering the ratings of CNN, ABC, and all the other networks who distort the truth, and further the Clash and misunderstanding of other nations.

JOIN ME :)!!! WE HAVE POWER IN NUMBERS!

Joseph - heck no don't replace bad with worse! I "Got Hope" do you? Good answer, I appreciate it. Would be cool to have 'real' people like you and I on some of these news programs discussing the issues, rather than some career opinionist always.

Sparkle, I like your answer too.

good point, think back to the mccarthy witch hunts of the fifties, where people were executed for being red,(or even a little pink) an assigned enemy is good politics,it takes the focus off whats really happening in the world.i.e. the senseless slaughter on both sides in the futile iraqi war,or the ongoing abuse of human rights by the israelis in palestine. politics, and media, are adept at hoodwinking us,and the majority of us are happy to accept this.

I agree with you, to a certain degree. The terrorist attack should have opened our eyes to the ignorance'........
That is the the most viable statement in your discourse.
The US was resting on smugness. We know better now.
Or so we should.

Of those countries 'we were assigned to hate', Iraq is the only one that obviously doesn't make sense, since it was attacked for corrupt and personal reasons by this administration. The others are, in fact, a viable threat that has been looming over us for years of our self-indulgent complacency.

'We have power in numbers' is another valid statement, in my view, but it must be used in a way in which we are all in agreement. No use just harping on about it: Get to work.
Find out, from original source to final marketing & sales, who profits from what. (It's all about (YOUR) money!). And do research on how things work in the advertising realm: Boycott all the products that are advertised on the broadcasting stations you least respect. YOU are targeted: Be one of those targets that doesn't get a hit. Be that one person, in millions, that is protesting your right to have an opinion.

Look, this country has been dummed down substantially. I can see that, having returned here after several years abroad.
But you can see why this happened: Americans need their 'comfort & conveniences". The temptation is too great. But your act of buying the product just feeds the hand that you so disdain:....the news feed to you, that is fed by the giants that feed off you!
Do without the conveniences, and get to work on enhancing the value of your lives.
Advertising dumms you down. So. just stop it. TODAY. NOW.

We are not assigned an enemy. We stand to defend against and for that which some may not yet see or know. We liston to a voice others may not even hear yet. We do not deny our reason for living; We do not surrender to the enemy of Our God.

...Ahhh- the "power in numbers"- to do WHAT??! Replace CNN with FOX? Bush with Cheney?? Bad with Worse??? Those don't sound like particularly wise choices- to me! I agree with You 100% that people should be thinking for themselves- instead of handing the reins of Power over to Politicians who don't have a Clue. But just because alot of things "SHOULD" be- doesn't mean we're going to be leaving "La-La Land" any time soon! Forget about bashing the Media for being as "biased" as the REST of us...-How 'bout settling for something alittle more Constructive- like suggesting that people get OFF their plump rear-ends & VOTE next year- for someone who might actually DO SOMETHING to make this Country better???! Give us HOPE- not more reasons to Complain... :(

So 30 years of Islamic terror against the west along with the thousands of terrorist attacks that happen worldwide against all religions in the name of Islam mean nothing! Pick up a newspaper sometime.

Listen to me for one minute. You,like me and most other ordinary U.S. citizens dont have a clue as to who in this world may hate us,but believe me our gov.has our best interest at mind.It just so happens that the Muslim extremist at this time would like nothing better than to cut your throat.
I agree that the major news networks try to hide the truth from us but we are not as stupid as they would like to believe,at least some of us that is.
Our country will never go down without a fight, even if it comes to fighting in our front yard.Where would you rather the fighting happen, here,or there?
