"By the way, you look very Zen today!"
I was dressed up in a traditional Chinese top and dress shoes because I had a speech on Zen in a Communication class.
He smiled and told me that before he left. That's the first time he's ever said something like that to me before. Is it a compliment? If so, is it a friendly compliment or is it a compliment suggesting I look really good (and may like me)????

If a guy says anything to you about the way you LOOK it is usually a compliment...sometimes they just don't know how to say what they really want to say

Er, you were speaking about Zen so.........................? I think its obvious why don't you? He was very gently poking fun at you and getting in on the Zen thingie - a compliment my dear, a compliment - he could have said you looked a real prat in the Chinese get up, unless you are Chinese in which case its still a compliment.

I think he was being friendly... but maybe not JUST friendly. This could be an opportunity for you to speak to him more... you never know where it could end up.. maybe someone else to talk to in class or maybe more... but if you do think he is cool, then I would view this interaction as good ground to try and further your dialog with him so that you can get a better idea of just how friendly he is being :)

Ha ha..it was a compliment. He was saying you look nice. He said it in a funny way to make you smile. Doesn;t necessarily mean he digs you. But it means you look nice. "Possibility" that he digs you. But it could just be friendly. Hang out with him a bit more. See where it leads to. Have fun

haha. he is saying that you are looking very zen as a friendly joke, since you gave a speech on zen, and you're dressed in chinese-style clothing for it. it's funny.

he very well might like you! but what's the point in asking us? what we say won't change what he thinks of you and hopefully shouldn't change what you think of him!
wait and see what happens! start talking to him more and compliment him back a bit!
ignore the second comment, he's not making fun of u! and the first comment, well, give him a thumbs down what he did was stupid lol

That's a general comment he made that sounds like he's making a friendly joke not really so much that he is in to you.

If he doesnt talk to you often then yeah it was prolly a meaningful compliment or he just friendly. who cares? the guy you liked talked to you and said he "liked" ur outfit! be happy :]

It all depends on HOW he said it. My best guess is he was making a pun. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
Guys generally don't know how to express themselves correctly or well.
